Message from Chinmayamaruti

It is a very exciting time in the history of Chinmaya Mission Boston, as the final construction phase of Chinmaya Maruti begins in a couple of weeks. The project which includes the addition of twelve classrooms, a state of the art auditorium, a meditation hall and acharya quarters is scheduled to begin in two weeks and is expected to be completed in August of 2009. During the construction phase the Andover classes will be held at Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School, off exit 45 on route 93. The class format will be identical to the existing structure with two sessions ( 9am to 10.30am and 11.45am to 1.15pm) with language classes in between.   We are indeed privileged to use this facilty, where Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda held the first Jnana Yagna in the Boston area in the 70's.

Please also note that there will be only one session (9am), for 8th to 12th graders.

Classes begin on September 5th for Nashua members and September 7th for Andover and Metrowest  (previously called Framingham/Shrewsbury) members.

Metrowest Balavihar is moving to a new location, Jewish Community Center in Westborough MA, to accomodate more members.

We are happy to let you know that a group of our Balavihar and Youth Group teachers went to Chinmaya Mission Houston,Texas. They were able to observe, learn and also bring back a wealth of material to enhance and enrich our program here.

An all day Teachers training seminar will be held on September 6th. Details will be available soon on our website.

We are planning to start a community service program for our senior children. This will help them to give back to the organization and earn some credits as well. This will be in the spirit of the Mission pledge and and fulfill their needs for seva.

As we move along with all these exciting plans, we need you to visit our website  (http://www.chinmayamaruti.org) and register before 20th of August.  It is important that you let us know the place and session of your preference ( Andover members only), any language and shlokathon classes you are interested in as well.
